Cake Mix Doctor!
By Carrie | December 3, 2007
So, tonight the Cake Mix Doctor herself was visiting the Barnes and Noble in Cary. I dragged Oak along with my much-loved copy of the Cake Mix Doctor cookbook. While Oak spends hours laboring over Martha’s baked creations, when we need a quick weeknight baked good, Cake Mix Doctor always comes to the rescue. Plus, her cupcake book is pretty good (especially the muffins! They are “cupcake cousins” you know.).
She is on tour promoting her new book - the What Can I bring? cookbook. I’m still mulling it over, but it seems promising for all of the potlucks we have at the office, where “fruit salad” and “a pile of something or other from Bojangles” seems all too common. A few of the Barnes and Noble employees even made recipes from the book for the event, but apparently “food codes” did not allow them to serve the goodies, so we got stale cookies from the Barnes and Noble cafe instead. Le sigh. I suppose it’s better than nothing! Apparently the B&N cafe workers need to purchase this book.

That sounds like a useful book - people at work don’t need high quality stuff, but anything is better than Bojangles.

Yeah, definitely! I’m going to try it out for our holiday potluck next week.
