PiedmontOak and I had a great Valentines day at Piedmont this year. Piedmont opened last November in Durham, and we’ve been hoping to go there ever since, especially since one of the chefs is a veteran of Bouchon in Las Vegas. We were not disappointed! Oak tried a foie gras terrine, but was disappointed that he did not get a whole piece of liver, but a pate in a small bowl. The most memorable part for me was the dessert, a beautiful chocolate tart with fleur de sel. I had never had chocolate and salt in a dessert like this before, but it was absolutely amazing and made for the perfect ending of a Valentine’s Day!
