Oak has a passion for french-cut green beans. This is surprising considering he is quite an amateur chef/gourmand… you’d think fresh would be the only acceptable version of any vegetable. I find the canned green beans almost inedible… especially the french-cut mush.
This inspiration is most likely from our cruise/wedding diets, in which we are attempting to eat more healthily. Oak discovered he can eat a whole can of green beans for only 70 calories, or something like that. I’ll stick with corn or peas, thankyouverymuch. Even better, I’ll hit the salad bar at Harris teeter for my daily dose of vegetables. (Another wonderful discovery: make your own salad for like $2, don’t have to cut anything up or have to eat 8 pounds of salad in 2 days)
So, here is what to leave me a comment about: what is your opinion on canned vegetables?
Oh yeah, I posted our Christmas photos.
What can I say? I’ve been busy slaving away for the Man. Our translation shipment is this week, and next week is a shipment of another 300-page doozy, of which I am the only writer/editor. Yes indeed. Who knew sitting at a computer all day could be so physically exhausting. Almost as exhausting as body pump, which has the backsides of my underarms aching (Don’t they know it’s the front underarm blobby things that I care about?? Whatever!).
Some inspiration to keep me going, is the fact that most of March is NO WORK! Yahoo! (Oh yeah the getting married, going on 2 cruises thing ain’t bad either.)
I have this new tear away calendar in my cube at work with a different tropical locale photograph for each day. Combined with my Hawaiian-themed desktop background, I must say that my cubicle might as well BE a tropical paradise. Oh yes. (Does anyone want to buy me a palm tree to finish the motifa?)
This really has me thinking. Wouldn’t it be great, if in your cubicle, you had some island guy bringing (virgin) tropical drinks every half hour? And you could hear the ocean waves flowing in the background, instead of the person in next cube over typing way too loudly? I’m feeling hot hot hot already!
I never summarized my dental experiences over the past couple weeks. Well, the wisdom teeth extraction was relatively painless, considering my teeth were erupted (apparently a large factor), and the fact that I was under total sedation for the entire surgery. The sedation part was hot, and I definitely recommend it to anyone undergoing dental surgery. Who wants to remember the tooth-cracking experience? No thanks. It also made me unaware of the planet for several hours afterwards. Luckily my honey was there to change the gauze in my mouth and feed me ice cream.
Now that my wisdom teeth situation is basically recovered, I took a little visit to the dentist today to see if I had to undergo the “deep cleaning” (ie uber scary) experience. Luckily the wisdom teeth were the deciding factor.. I got the regular old gritty-toothpaste cleaning instead. Phew.
This is also the end of the nasty concentrated mouthwash. PHEW! That stuff is highly unpleasant. Unfortunately my dental routine is more complicated than ever:
- Floss every morning
- Rotadent twice: in the morning and at night
- At night, mouthwash:
Monday, Wednesday and Friday: Act Fluoride mouthwash
All other days: Crest Pro-Health Rinse - Chew Trident sugarless gum
- Whitening routine: Sensodyne with Whitening and Crest Whitestrips
- Consume 1200 mg of Calcium and get some Vitamin D each day
I am tired just reading this. I have to say I’m wondering, just a little bit, if dentists conveniently invest in all the products they recommend to patients. Ah well, at least my dental bills are done for the moment. Poor Oak still has his second deep cleaning next week. He was not a happy camper after the first.
Now, more than ever, dental products will be taking over the bathroom….
In the spirit of new years resolutions, I started looking at 43 things. It was then I discovered 43 places, where you can record the places you have been and the places you want to go. It’s an amazing site to both record your travels and plan your future. It even creates a map of the places you’ve been (in blue) and the places you want to go (in orange). It is unbelivable how insignificant the places you’ve been look when placing them on the WORLD map! LOL
Perhaps someday, my map will be more blue than orange! We shall see!
