Have I mentioned that I’ve completely lost my magic with the corn-muffin making? Well, my corn muffins for the holiday potluck went largely uneaten. I left them in the conference room with some hope that someone would take them to feed to a starving dog or something.

I’m hoping that I can blame this tragedy on the Jiffy corn muffin people rather than a declined skill level on my part. Maybe I should write the Jiffy people a letter someday.

Speaking of holiday hoop-la, can I say that Oak’s office holiday party was very fancy and exciting? First of all, it was at the Sheraton in Chapel Hill (hellow glitz and glamour! I had to wear pantyhose!). Second, there was an open bar – in which you could order mixed drinks – woo! Third, there was a rather large DESSERT bar after dinner as well (also live entertainment by a jazz band and then a rock band). Fourth, they gave out tooons of gift certificates to the employees. (The one we happened to win was donated, ironically, by Lenovo*, which they accidentally spelled “Lenova.” I will forgive them in this case.)

*Lenovo bought out the personal computing division of IBM last year.

So, in conclusion, DHTS can throw a heck of a holiday party, or “bash,” as the CIO prefers to call it. Indeed.

How are the holidays celebrated in your workplace?
