So, Oak has been torturing me with this “surprise” that he has been planning for me for a few months. I asked for a clue about it and all he would say was that “You’ve done it before and liked it” and that I would “never ever guess.”
Well, he was right, I definitely would have never guessed this one. We were driving by the Lowes motor speedway in Concord… there were huge tents set up across the street! Cirque du Soleil was in town, and we were going! I had absolutely no idea.
It was an amazing show. I can’t believe how it was all set up outside in tents! Oak and I spent the entire performance wondering how it’s possible to balance on one’s head, and what exactly the story was about. My interpretation was an exploration of the elements, like fire, wind, earth, water, etc. After reading the website, I guess I was sort of close, as it was about a “journey through a magical and faraway land.” lol.
We even got our first Christmas ornament together, a cirque du soleil acrobat. She is wearing a hot green outfit, of course.
On Saturday we went to Carowinds with some of Oak’s coworkers. I learned that I cannot handle roller coasters any more. It’s not even that I am more afraid of them now (I am probably less afraid actually!), but riding them gives me a horrible headache. Oak and I are looking forward to returning for the water park next summer. By the way, SANTA CLAUS was waving to us on our way out. Hellow, Santa Claus sightings should not occur until the day after Thanksgiving. It was even “snowing” in 75 degree weather, thanks to the fake snow machine. Magical!
