OK, so in the last month Oak and I have discovered that we are victims of Periodontal disease. Greaat. Believe me, go to the dentist as often as possible, as unpleasant as it may be! Apparently the treatment is to get some debriding treatment and root planing? All I know this means is some serious time with the dental hygenist.
Yeah so how scary does that sound? YIKES! Yet, at the same time, I have no cavities and according to the hygenist, “very little plaque.” Go figure. We now have a fancy rotating toothbrush. I’m impressed.
I also learned yesterday, to my great dismay, that I have to have my wisdom teeth pulled. Oh joy. I don’t want to lose my wisdom!! Or maybe the wisdom comes AFTER you have them taken out. Any thoughts?
Oh yes, and by some miracle I made it to and from the dentist with a slowly deflating tire after hitting a large pothole on my morning commute. Phew.
Is your work located in Cubeville? Then I highly recommend listening to White collar ruckus.
It’s the podcast version of Office Space.
I’m a little late joining the podcast revolution. I will advertise others as I listen to more of them…. Oak is subscribed to like 5 beer casts (are we surprised?? not so much).
So, Oak has been torturing me with this “surprise” that he has been planning for me for a few months. I asked for a clue about it and all he would say was that “You’ve done it before and liked it” and that I would “never ever guess.”
Well, he was right, I definitely would have never guessed this one. We were driving by the Lowes motor speedway in Concord… there were huge tents set up across the street! Cirque du Soleil was in town, and we were going! I had absolutely no idea.
It was an amazing show. I can’t believe how it was all set up outside in tents! Oak and I spent the entire performance wondering how it’s possible to balance on one’s head, and what exactly the story was about. My interpretation was an exploration of the elements, like fire, wind, earth, water, etc. After reading the website, I guess I was sort of close, as it was about a “journey through a magical and faraway land.” lol.
We even got our first Christmas ornament together, a cirque du soleil acrobat. She is wearing a hot green outfit, of course.
On Saturday we went to Carowinds with some of Oak’s coworkers. I learned that I cannot handle roller coasters any more. It’s not even that I am more afraid of them now (I am probably less afraid actually!), but riding them gives me a horrible headache. Oak and I are looking forward to returning for the water park next summer. By the way, SANTA CLAUS was waving to us on our way out. Hellow, Santa Claus sightings should not occur until the day after Thanksgiving. It was even “snowing” in 75 degree weather, thanks to the fake snow machine. Magical!
Is it just me or is it waaaay too early for holiday lights? I’ve already spotted a couple in my neighborhood. I’ll go ahead and agree that orange-colored lights can be festive during this “harvest” time of year. However … general multi-colored lights? Hellow ! Those should NOT be out until the day after Thanksgiving at the earliest! What is wrong with these people?
In one of our friends’ apartment complexes, they have white lights on the trees all winter long. Oak calls these “winter lights.” However, only acceptable if it’s actually winter! oy.
At least I haven’t spotted any large inflatable Christmas objects adorning any yards yet. (Like this one – includes real snow… omg) Those are the bane of my holiday existance. *shudder*
BTW, do you think Martha would improve of large inflatable holiday decor? I doubt it. That’s a good reason not to do it, thankyouverymuch. I am feeling inclined to read our restrictive covenants (ie the stuff the homeowners association says we can and cannot do to our house exterior). Should I propose an anti-inflatable clause? I think so.
