Tomatoes are in season and I am obsessed. Tomato basil mozarella slices, tomato salad, tomato sandwiches……. yum. I hope to get some oddly shaped heirlooms over the weekend at the farmer market. We’ve also discovered a number of great cheese vendors there; last week was goat cheese, and we are planning fresh mozarella for next weekend’s purchase.

When the brand spankin’ new 24 hour Harris Teeter opened, believe you me we were there. It even has Starbucks. Wowsers. We got some new fudgesicles with slim piggies on the package, but they don’t stand up to the healthy choice version. Bummer.

Work is still insanity…… shipping another huge amount of work on Friday. Then, freedom! (well, sorta).

I had a personal training session today and learned all the strangely-fangled “free weight” equipment. Oh yes. Can you see my large muscles through the internet?

I am completely, totally obsessed with Health y choice frozen fudge bars. Yeah, what’s up with that. However, at 80 calories they definitely fulfill a chocolate craving or a late evening snack attack.

Oak prefers the ice cream sandwiches. I am still confused about how they can make low fat ice cream taste so much like the real thing.

I have many more things to write about than this topic, as I haven’t updated in oh, about 35 years, but I would just like to admit that as the years go by, my purse gets bigger.

In college my purse needed to contain my (usually empty) wallet and perhaps a tube of lip gloss. My poor mother had to suffer through my raving about the uselessness of large purses.

Nowadays – I have a mid-sized purse that contains the same wallet and lip gloss but in addition: a cell phone, ipod, prescription sunglasses, hair tie and clip for hair incidents, note pad for “notes to self” and an emergency stash of, ahem, “womanly supplies.” And it barely fits.

The other downside to this large purse situation is that it is a bottomless pit. My phone’s ringing, but where the heck is it? I have handfuls of stuff, but where are my keys? And so on.

So what is the solution here? Carry a larger bag to work every day and a smaller bag for night? Or just drop the small bag idea and get a honker for all times and seasons?

With a larger bag I fear that I will find it necessary to carry more and more things with me 24 hours a day. Plus, I live up to my theory that the older that you get, the larger your purse becomes. And, I no longer have the ability to critique my mom’s large purses. (lol) Quel tragique!
