Lots of happenings over the weekend. If all goes well, we have a CLOSING DATE on April 29th. !ding! More details later as things become more real. :) (Hopefully “Keeping it real gone bad” will not occur at any point in this process!)

Somehow, SOMEHOW I ended up watching a movie on the SCI-FI NETWORK this weekend. I do manage to half ignore most of Oak’s Sci-fi watching, but sometimes – it just happens. (Yes I know all the Stargate characters names, and at one point figured out a plot twist before Oak.. that was a moment of sorrow!).

So anyway, this movie definitely goes on near the top of my Worst Movies Ever list. Alien Apocalypse, starring Bruce Campbell. About giant termite-like aliens that take over the earth, and reduce humans to cutting down all the trees on the planet. In the process, humans become an uninspired species. Come in Bruce Campbell, who has been orbiting the earth frozen for the past 30 years. Of course he leads a crusade to beat the Evil Alien Bugs and Save the Earth. In this process we discover that you can kill the aliens with an ARROW. HEllow. How did they manage to take over the earth in the first place??? Need we say much more, really?

The top of the list has to be the Oboe Player Movie (title withheld because alas, it was so bad I don’t remember the title). It was high school, and Shira’s mom took us to Home Video (the local VHS rental place – 5 movies 5 days 5 dolla!). Too much debating led Shira’s mom to grab us a random video from the shelf. Then we were subjected to two hours of British people living in a creepy mansion on a moor, who engage in witty (hard to understand) conversation and play musical instruments. I don’t think that we made it much further and instead played Disco Music in the living room. Anything with John Travolta would have been a better choice. :)

daffodil.jpg One thing to love about North Carolina : It actually feels like Spring around the Spring solstice! Things are in bloom! It is over 65 degrees! Ding.

I am now the proud owner of a 20-GB ipod. The ads sucked me in, I must admit. Though I also must admit that having my own music collection to listen to all day instead of depending on sketchy internet radio is a definite plus.

The best part is the entire industry that surrounds the ipod. First you need new headphones. Then a silicone cover to protect your new baby. Then the iTrip so you can listen to tunage in your car. Then a belt clip or an arm band for transport purposes. Then the Bose docking station with incredible sound for your ipod. Tranquilize, Tranquilize!

SJP’s newest commercial is a pink and khaki tribute to the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic “I enjoy being a girl.” I do covet a mirror with this ability to show multiple wardrobe possibilities at the same time. !ding!

And now I definitely want the modern wide leg trouser and the trench mini hobo in pastel. TV is so evil.

DSCF0005.JPG Here is yet another project. Wonder water is quite wonderous indeed. I can fool everyone with my “fresh” floral arrangements. Muahahaha.

I’ve been dreaming of taking up embroidery for quite awhile. Well, I finally bought the stitch-it kit with christmas money and have been going to town. Here is the first product of my handiwork, a strawberry-embroidered tea towel… I finished it awhile ago and have since moved onto another top-secret project, which I will share when it is finished.

Surely I will move on to something edgier and more exotic for my next project… but for now this looks lovely in our fiestaware kitchen.
