Shira is a LeRoy
celebrity!!!! Dessert in the stacks is one of the Major! the LeRoy events of the year. Everyone who’s anyone is at the library, eating desserts. A definite winter highlight.
My new favorite commuting activity is to count the ribbon magnets on cars.
I realized that on occasion people enjoy sticking them all over the place. I counted 4 on one car once. The average per 10-mile commute is about 8 or 9 of them. Not including the parking lots. So I suppose it’s a sizeable amount. It gets difficult to remember which cars I’ve already counted, though, so if anyone has advice about that it would be valued.
Perhaps I should move on to the “sports balls” magnets. The most popular in the Cary area is, of course, the soccer ball. But I do see other balls on occasion – heck there’s even a “dancer” sticker on a minivan I usually park next to at work. My parents would have needed a “Band Nerd” sticker. I have yet to see one of those driving around.
There is supposed to be “wintry mix” precipitation tomorrow, so I might be able to make a running tally of all of the stickers when I am stuck in traffic for hours. Stay tuned.
As it turns out, 14 year old girls are very good concert-mates. (Minus the excessive picture-phoning. Your 1 megapixel camera is NOT going to capture the moment.) The best part is that I am actually taller than some of them. Ding. Unfortunately catching the guitar pick didn’t happen. I did get a nifty tshirt though.
Speaking of fashion, I also got a celery green belt over the weekend which no doubt will be a staple. The motifa of the winter/spring season is greens and blues. Apparently some of my most flattering colors as many coworkers seem to enjoy this motifa. On a related note, I have watched way too many of episodes of The Look for Less. There needs to be MORE episodes. I thirst for more. (I know. Tres pathetique.)
I’m not the only one talking about fashion. There’s a lot of hype around the Express editor pants. I happen to own 2 pairs and absolutely ADORE them! If they weren’t $60 a pop I’d own a pair in every color. (Unless we excessively stalk the sales… ding) You don’t even have to be an editor to own a pair. Though mine would most conveniently be mountain dew-colored.

I recently downloaded the mp3s from Brotherhood of Lost Dogs. As you may or may not know, the group is led by Max from the now-estranged Eve 6. So this is one way to get a temporary Eve 6-Fix. (even though it’s acoustic.)
Seeing Bowling For Soup at Lincoln Theatre (again!). Except this time there will no doubt be hundreds of 13-year-olds. That’s OK, it’s my personal goal to catch another guitar pick. Plan for the evening: Learn how to step on 13-year-olds for fun and profit.
Feeling the love for one of your favorite rock bands??? Make a RockToon your desktop wallpaper!
Finally posted the cruise photos!
I also went nuts and made this new layout. Though I must admit, it is pretty lame-o. Oh well. Even 2 hours of extra effort in the evening is enough to make me want to run away from the computer. AYEE!
