I am hyped up on iced tea from Mama Fu’s (come to Mama!). Out of boredom and procrastination on sleep, I decided to look at my senior year yearbook.
It’s especially interesting reveling in bad fashion and hair choices. Tapered jeans? Baggy shirts? Long, limp hair? Geez, what was I thinking. If I wore those things nowadays I’d surely be a candidate on “What Not to Wear.” Luckily Shira and Joanna were the editors-in-chief of the senior year yearbook so all photos were pre-approved for entry. Thank goodness. The LeRoy Jr/Sr high school class of 1999 can revel in the only decent pictures that were taken and not the heinous fashion choices. The most fabu photos were featured, and that’s the way it ought to be! One of my favorites is this one of Shira and me in the senior section (Though, really, Shira is stealing the show here, let’s face it .. I appear to be sleeping and have a neon beer sign growing out of my head – but still, at least the hair is under control! yes.):

At the time the “Cool Funk Glasses” were more of a joke, worn at fabu off-campus school events and shared by all (Shira, especially, has about 10 pictures of different people in this same pair of glasses). Now I actually wear glasses like this on a daily basis. So, it has me thinking, were we extremely fashion forward back then or will I be regretting the choice of donning “Cool funks” for 4+ years of my life when I look back 5 years from now?
Luckily I won’t be showing up in any school yearbooks any time soon. Phew.

ooho the cool funks. I still have a pair that I use to disguise myself when parking illegally in the guest-only parking lot at work. So far they’ve been very effective!
