
OK, I am in the middle of my lunch break, but I just had quite possibly the worst excuse for food in my life.
Last time Oak and I went grocery shopping, we some how ended up with an Atkins Advantage bar in one of our bags. Don’t know how it got there since we heart carbs way too much to go on that diet!
Anyway, it got packed in my lunch today, and I figured I’d give it a try. After all, it’s only low-carb, not low-calorie, so it can’t be all that bad right? Plus, it was chocolate and peanut butter! So, basically, I was expecting something along the lines of a nutty bar without cookie wafers inside.
SO WRONG. It was like a chemically piece of nuclear refuse. The peanut part didn’t even taste good! I could understand the chocolate, but peanut butter is like pure proteins, isn’t it? Why would someone waste 230 calories on this thing? A normal granola bar tastes much better and has like 150 calories.
I still fail to see the benefit of the Atkins diet. Especially if you’re forced to eat that food! ew.
And my real Nutty Bars are at home. *Sigh*

i know someone on atkins and she’s lost over 60 lbs in 9 months. so it does work! but she would definitely agree with the crappy food. she told me she feels like all she does is eat nasty chemicals. when she reaches her goal weight, she’s going to switch to the south beach diet. personally, i prefer the pizza diet..

yeah, why torture yourself with Atkins when there are so many other ways to lose weight and still enjoy eating. I think that the Atkins diet is going to lead to lots of eating disorders down the road. These people are purposely depriving themselves of everything tasty and good. It feels so wrong to me.
Nutty bars are so frickin good. i remember in high school I would fantasize about having one just about every day at lunch. but was too cheap to buy them! (Plus, brainwashed by mom that you’re NEVER supposed to eat junk food). I was reading the lunch menu yesterday…they’re still serving all the same kinds of food at good old LHS: Italian dunkers, mexican pizza, chicken pattys…YUMMMMMMMMMM.

You are only supposed to be on the Atkins diet for like a couple months at a time. Even he realizes that depriving your body of carbs is bad juju. A diet full of basically just meat is bad, its so confusing to think that people could think otherwise. Best diet is to eat healthy and get lots of excersize.
