I apologize for my lack of posts. I suppose I’ve had a few minor annoyances that would sound more like a complaint than an interesting post, though I can share them with humor now (except my stupid HSBC account… don’t go there!).
So, the search for My Newer Car continues. With Greenlee approaching 80 thousand miles and having a few funky mysterious noises, Oak and I have been test driving various newer used cars for my driving pleasure. Over Christmas-time we drove a Mini Cooper and several boring Toyotas. The Mini was hot, but not worth a $400 car payment. Toyotas are just, well, Toyotas. The salesman at Toyota was also highly annoying.
Anyhow, I decided perhaps I would like a VW Jetta. They are awfully pretty and sporty to boot. So we looked at the VW dealer, and all the used ones they had were either a)Ugly Colors or b)Had too many miles. So we drove over to Carmax, where they also appraise your vehicle. They also happened to have a
hot red Jetta that I enjoyed highly. However, I was slightly disheartened by the fact that Greenlee was appraised for a $500 trade-in value. Hellow, I still OWE more on the dumb car than that! So we left and I was mew-ing like crazy.
Anyhow, I asked the Internet what it thinks of Jettas and there are mixed reviews. Apparently random things like to break on them periodically. So, of course, I am slightly hesitant of buying one, but at the same time a good ‘ol reliable Corolla or Civic just doesn’t seem the same. Sigh! lol. Perhaps my mind will be changed if I find a Hot Purple Car. Or something.
Despite the whole car scenario, I had a lovely Valentines day! Oak got me some bling-bling (a pretty diamond solitaire necklace) along with some traditional flowers/belgian chocolate. I am such a spoiled girl, I now enjoy 3 diamonds – two in earrings and now the necklace. Muahahahahahaha!
My mom and Dave also sent us a Valentines package which of course contained the traditional Valentines marshmallow Peeps along with many other goodies. Lup lup!
OK I apologize for this not being in any particular order, but Anne also visited last week! Well, visited as in Came to Raleigh to Interview for Big Blue and whatever free time she had we went out for beers in between. Of course she had to get some Danny’s barbeque. They just don’t make the bbq right “up North”! Anyway that visit was far too short, but we had fun anyhow.
What else, what else. Oh yes, to celebrate his first day of the new job, Oak and I went to Brixx Pizza last night. Apparently this is one of the local Places To Be Seen, but we went for the pizza and cheap beer. But we were very trendy as well. Hotness.
Oh, and finally, we are having all these “severe winter warnings” for 1 inch of snow and a little bit of freezing rain. The kids here have to go to school this Saturday because they keep cancelling school due to the weather. Hahaha! I’m sure the New York readers out there will find that highly entertaining.
Well I think I may be ready to lull myself to sleep now. Night night!

1 inch of snow?! bah! Back home that wasn’t even considered a snow storm! Freezing rain on the other hand is bad juju. Freezing rain is serious stuff no matter where you are, that is probly why they closed the school I bet.

New car shopping – blech, I remember that..
Go for a Honda – the experience I had at Honda dealerships could not compare to Volkswagon or Toyota dealerships.. Their service department and warranties are great too (even on used cars).
