Oak has brought up a fear of mine – that we may, indeed, be becoming yuppies. I think it’s a bit far off, though I don’t suppose the intellectual-looking glasses help. He’ll have to reconsider someday when I’m sporting a Rolex and he’s driving a BMW. *cough* that’ll be far off! Check back in 15 years!
Besides, what yuppie has a punk website, huh?
Oh man. I need to stop being so lazy about this website! But I do finally have some of the punk up. Notice the new content pages, nothing too novel there but I felt like some stuff needed to move off the weblog page. Hopefully I will be less lazy soon and get everything more organized around here!
Ok. No, I have not suddenly become a dangerous criminal making my way down the east coast.
I just remember seeing that quote somewhere, and I suppose it’s appropriate.
I SWEAR the punk Carrievision is coming! Unfortunately I had my domain name registered with my old @rpi.edu email address, so I didn’t get the reminder to renew, and of course forgot all about it. But we are up and running again, hopefully not too many fans were lost! haha.
Frisbee team update – team is STILL undefeated like 7-0! No thanks to yours truly, I’ve missed the past 2 games due to a summer cold. Sore throats and sniffy noses are no fun. Not like I am the ringer of the team anyhow
I spent the past 2 days in a learning lab “connecting” and learning about Networking. Oy. I’m sorry, I will never be good at talking to people I’ve never met before. Whatever. It was a nice change from working, especially with free lunch and donuts! haha.
I had fun chillin’ with the senior citizens again at Durham community band. We play fun music, including Harry Potter and a Richard Rodgers medley. I was also reminded of the good ‘ol LHS days with Light Cavalry and God Bless America.. (remember those arrangments, any fellow alumni?). Except now I play 3rd clarinet instead of 1st. Haha. It’s fun though, because the third clarinets rock. Plus I don’t have to practice much this way
Random thoughts are over. Gotta stay up another hour + to catch Eve6 on the Late Late Show with Greg Kilbourn. At least I don’t have to get up early tomorrow
Does anyone GET the movie Fast Times at Ridgemont High? Maybe it has to do with not being a teen in the 80s, but that movie was seriously plotless and trashy! I don’t see where the humor in it was.. though I suppose all the issues presented were revolutionary for that time, or something.
I suppose the same could be said for the American Pie movies. Sure they’re all scandalous now, but our kids will look at it and be like, “so he stuck it in a pie, what’s the big deal?” Hrm.
My personal favorite American-Chinese dish is General Tso’s chicken. But who is General Tso, and why is this chicken specialty named after him? A cute article
I just got a package from Oak today, and amongst several other goodies lay this extremely hot cookbook. Not only does it have Lichtenstein-inspired illustrations throughout, it’s actually all quick and simple cooking, which I might actually use, assuming I want to get off my Lean Cuisine diet one day! Score!
Apparently my ultimate frisbee team kicks serious butt. We are now 3-0 and we just beat the other undefeated team tonight 14-7, I think. Don’t quote me on that. Not that I really contribute that much to this, but still my team rocks, yay. haha =)
I’ve got Aunt Lynda’s sewing machine all figured out. I already made a pillow while watching HGTV one night. It was very domestic of me. I’ve got like 4 more pillows to make and I want to experiment a bit more with altered t-shirts. Fun times! I will have to post the results on Queen Motifas – which by the way, needs a serious update. Oy. And I’ve still gotta get my punk site up! Man too much work and too little time, I guess. Or maybe I’m too lazy. One way or the other
