My Eve 6 CD came today! Complete with signed book and ultra-hip wristband. Actually since I am past the teeny bopper stage, I’m not sure I can really pull it off, so I put it on my bobble head chihuahua instead. I think the bobble’s name is Salsa, since Oak and I have planned to name our future pets after Mexican food.
Anyhoo, the CD is very fun because it comes with videos of the band – an interview AND performance video. Though I am still a bit confused as to why there is a headless man on the cover. I suppose I have to listen to the lyrics again and see where the heck that came from. Or perhaps the lyrics are Dada in nature – you know I’m all about the Dada art form after doing a poster on the cool dude Tristan Tzara. He really got his dada on.
This weekend is off to Tremont Music hall in Charlotte to see them live! I am “elated, all smiles and jaded” to put my emotions in lyrical form. Oh dear.
I think I am tired. E-nough. After spending all day on a computer, maybe I have just reached this semi-trance form, causing me to babble on endlessly to this silly machine. But it listens and doesn’t talk back, which is a pretty nice feature. Hot.
Bed time.
I’m sure I’m boring everyone I know to death with the furniture talk. However, I had a mighty fun time on Sunday going to check some out. Of course it has to match with my anticipated sushi theme. I kind of like this set at Rooms to Go, but it looks a lot lighter in color in the photo.. I’ll have to check it out again sometime. Sigh.
My aunt and uncle came to visit this weekend, which was fun. I showed them the magical land of SouthPoint mall, where we ate at Champs, which I have not been to before, so that was exciting.
I also went to the flea market on Sunday. It was fun but very hot. Speaking of hot, I also ate a hot dog while there. The wild times I do have!

I was very had to hear at our swing dance on Sunday that everyone’s favorite deep-voiced disco king, Barry White, has passed away. That’s okay though because we can still listen to his groovy disco tunes and do some disco dance. I will never forget when Shira’s mom got mad at us for listening to him in high school, “Barry White is so TRASHY!” But hello! He’s an advocate of looooove, oooooh yeah, can’t get enough of your love baby! These are true disco classics! Some people just don’t have the appreciation for fine music when they hear it.
So I figured it was time to get rid of the “think spring” layout. I have a feeling this one may be fairly temporary, though who knows!

Anne and I have been meaning to express our deep appreciation for this fine rap artist. Not only does he appreciate a good nightcap, he graces the local triangle FM channels at least 6 times a day with the same song. But the real trick of this artist is his really cool name. Pronunciation is key!
It’s been a crazy past couple days. We went to Richmond to visit Anne’s aunts last weekend, which was a lot of fun. However, we did learn that shopping in ACTUAL boutiques (i.e. not S&A or GW) is way too expensive, even if they have very hot merchandise. I need to make a pillows with sushi fabric.
Luckily our friends at ReproDepot have lots of this fabric, and I can make like 3 pillows out of a yard of fabric if I put cheapo fabric on the back. Which would make these pillows like 1/3 the cost of those in the hot boutiques (they charged like .. $15 for one dumb pillow). Except Anne and I concluded we need to invest in a sewing machine. Hint hint to anyone who wants to get me an expensive birthday gift. Haha.
Anyways.. yesterday we went bowling. It was very fun except we were out too late on a school (ok, WORK) night so we were tired today. Anne and I both did very well with 144 as our high scores (yes we got the same score in 2/3 games).
Today was also muy exciting. Grocery shopping and car cleaning are always wonderful, enriching experiences. I don’t understand why they don’t have the car washes with the swishy rags that come down. They just use power washing – and don’t even have the neato dryer thing at the end so you don’t have to dry the car off with a towel. What a rip off.
It does take a bit to get used to this southern culture.. haha.
