Our favorite tissue paper flowers transformed to upscale christmas light hangers. Can we say hot?

So, what does everyone think of Mountain Dew: Live Wire. Sounds like the name of a Sci-fi flick, doesn’t it? They certainly made the website reflect this image as well.

I know I need to update the theme of my site- I can say pretty confidently that winter is over now (yahoo!).

And I think Live Wire tastes like carbonated Orange Tang. But that’s me.

yellow_flower.jpg Graduation was hectic and stressful day. Oy. But it was good, with a great speaker and beautiful weather. The only general complaint was the length of the ceremony – Shirley Ann Jackson certainly could have helped this by talking a bit less. Haha.

I’ll post pictures soon – just need to get them organized first :) So much to do, so little time.

May I express already my dislike of packing. I don’t know how people pack up entire houses; it’s taken me long enough to pack up a tiny dorm room (of course, a room in which every nook and cranny has purpose; it has to be that way). Not to mention my allergy to dust, causing me to be sniffly, sneezy and miserable during the entire process. Sigh. And it has just begun.

In a few days I get to don a silly outfit and commence (is that a verb?). It is somewhat maddening, I have to wear a yellow hood. Why not a hot red or orange one, like the engineering and arts majors? Haha. Not that the rest of the getup is that attractive anyhow.

Today was our “Zero-Year Reunion.” RPI actually provided us with booze before noon. Rumor has it that drinking before noon means you’re an alcoholic, therefore RPI was fueling its alcoholic students. Of course, I made my champagne into a Mimosa which was quite tasty. And we got to keep the champagne glasses. Score.

More sometime soon – must get back to the packing thing :-p

So today, Oak and I had our first check-out dive in Lake George, in the lovely mountains of Upstate NY. After spending quite a fair amount of time putting on full gear, we went tank-first into a 40-degree body of water. (equipment not shown in this picture: a very stylish hood, gloves, and dive booties – yes we looked like seals! orp orp!)

The neoprene wetsuits were definitely invaluable in making this a tolerable experience, though the whole point of wetsuits is that you get WET, then your body warms up a layer of water around your skin. So yes, it was cold. Imagine some ice cubes being basically dropped in every part of your body. Yes. I couldn’t get my fins off afterward since my fingers were numb.

Our instructor said that this diving is the toughest we will ever do, because of the tons of equipment that’s required for surviving the conditions. We pretty much concluded it’s completely nuts to dive in a lake up here; the bottom temperatures really don’t change that much, even in the 90 degree weather of summer, at depth it’s still a lovely 40 degrees.

After tomorrow, I’ll be dedicated to the tropical locations, where you can wear
practically nothing at depth and still be perfectly warm! Ding.

Tonight we had a barbecque for senior week. Fun! Tomorrow is the booze cruise, so yes, lots of time on the water for me. :-D yay! Time for bed.

I’m feeling rather stressed out for some reason. I guess the looming work to be finished, moving after graduation, and relocation is starting to get to me. I really just need to make a huge master “to-do” list and work on that.

At this point, though, I really just need to finish up my work for my classes. I am free on Friday! Yahoo. Just my design memo for Studio Design in HCI and my URP left. Which is good, since my motivation is clearly approaching zero as other classmates finish up with their work.

Yesterday Oak and I went to Ali Baba for some exciting Mediterranean food. Yummy.

This Friday starts senior week, and there are all sorts of events planned for the next week or so. It should be lots of fun. I’m especially looking forward to our trip to New York – trying to talk Oak into going to Chinatown (yummy food and knock off designer junk on Canal St.) and/or Greenwich village (so I can pretend to be on Friends!). So far we have agreed we would go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art or the Guggenheim. More planning is in order.

I will be the ultimate NY tourist with my cute little new digital camera I got as a graduation present! (Thanks to my “UT and AL”.. haha) See the awesome flower picture I took already? score! :)

Also, Oak now has a weblog – he abducted some of the other pictures I took for his second entry. :)

I am strangely fascinated by the miracles of the human body. My injured nail is starting to come up along the edges. I wonder what’s under there. It’s a very exciting thought. (I will avoid any further description for weak-stomached readers).

After those few stressful days, I needed some recovery time by doing absoutely nothing productive. Yaay. I promise, I will do better tomorrow.

Laura and I are going to get our hair cut today! Yay. I haven’t gotten mine cut since December so I need some serious length taken off. It’s been driving me nuts. Oy. I’m thinking a good 5 inches off the bottom. Yahooey. The one good thing about not going to get your hair cut as often is that you have that really cool weird ‘I feel like I have no hair’ thing going on.

Yesterday Oak and I went to Saratoga. It was fun :) I’m glad I got to go there once before leaving; it’s really everything that Troy should be but isn’t. Lucky Skidmore students. Haha. We also had lunch at PJ’s Bar-B-Q, which was excellent. Getting ready for the southern life, I suppose. We need to go back so Oak can have a white hot. (white hot dog for those of you not originating from western NY.. yes.. white hot dogs. Also pop-open hots are big. Yes, they are as exciting as they sound!) Lup lup. :)
