My trip back to Kinko’s this morning went smoothly. State St. Kinko’s is far superior to Wolf Rd, for anyone who is interested/cares.
Let’s just face it, I do not fare well on less than 8 hours of sleep. I’m going on a bottle of Mountain Dew and a can of Coke right now. Caffeine goodness.
I’m doing my Net Art project right now. My motivation is close to zero because I’m taking that class pass/no credit. Apparently I have an A right now so I’m not really too worried about not passing. I do, however, have to have some kind of project to present tomorrow. So yeah.
I fought a lot this evening with checkboxes in php forms. Basically – in forms, if the checkbox isn’t checked, the variable doesn’t exist on the next page. That gave me a headache. If you have any idea and/or are interested in what I’m talking about, read on in the “more” section.
Kinko’s didn’t really go very well! I have to go back to Albany early tomorrow morning to get some of my pages fixed. Ah well – I did manage to get a really good deal on my binding/prints though, rock on!
There was a barbecque today in our courtyard – yahoo! A welcome break from studying/meetings/projects that everyone seems to be doing.
I need to start thinking about cleaning out my room. I have so much junk. Ah well, I will put it off for another few days at least
Things let up a little after Tuesday, luckily, then I just have my URP and final memo for Studio Design in HCI left.
Off to make my lame-o Net Art project! Yay!
My Graphic Standards Manual is pretty much done! Yahoo. Now there is this whole outputting issue – I have to go to Kinko’s tomorrow. I’m pretty much terrified. Mostly about 2 things – 1) if it is going to come out right or not.. and 2) how much 40 pages of double sided color laser prints cropped and spiral bound is going to cost. It’s a frightening thought. I suppose I should equalize this with the fact that there was no textbook for this class, but it still doesn’t seem quite right. So, keep your fingers crossed!
So now I have a studio design in HCI presentation/memo, my URP, and a Net Art project that I haven’t started yet left. Then I am done. yay.

Join the Miu Miu-obsessed Becky Bloomwood again for another shopping adventure! I’m a big fan of books that will make me laugh, that I don’t really have to think about – and the Shopaholic series has been the only books to do it for me quite a few years. I know books are supposed to be enriching, mind expanding, etc. but I really would rather just be entertained.
If you liked the other books in the series, get your paws on this one too – it’s a lot of fun. Plus there are really cute illustrations inside the front cover. Hot.
So the new Eve 6 CD is dated for release on July 15, which just happens to be my 22nd birthday.
*hint hint* to any gift buyers out there. Only 3 shopping months left!
24 days till I graduate from RPI. I know this because countdown is on display in the suite window of the guys that live next door to us. They are very dedicated.
Oak and I took his little sister to an Easter Egg hunt at their local firehall. It was pretty cute, the Easter Bunny and Sparky the Fire Dog were there – not to mention free juice and cookies. The hilarious part was when the hunt began.
First of all, adults were to stay on the cement patio and watch the kids. This obviously did not happen. There were eggs all over the ground in plain sight, so there was no reason the kids would need help finding eggs. They were the plastic pop-open eggs, and had chocolates or a ticket for a prize inside.
Then we spotted the Easter Egg thief. At first, she looked like another parent helping her child find eggs. But no, she was opening the eggs to see what was inside, then either eating the candy or closing it and throwing it back on the ground. She would do this in bunches of 10 or so eggs at a time. So a lot of the kids were finding EMPTY eggs. You would have thought this 30-year old woman had never seen miniature sized candy bars in her life or something – or the play-dough that was being given out as special prizes was really important. Someone, get that woman to a dollar store. Geez.
For some reason, marshmallow peeps have become an integral part of my easter packages from home. I didn’t get any chocolate, no, but 2 15-packs of marshmallow birds.
Luckily I am able to share my wealth with others. But what if I was stuck with all these peeps? After eating about 2 I would surely have a cavity and the others would be left to become sugar rocks. A bit of research proves that many people have had this problem and have found many solutions to the peep overpopulation problem.
An experiment I definitely want to try – mutant peeps. I want to see my peep become a large bulbous structure, possibly exploding in my microwave. I’ve also heard if you put 2 peeps in a microwave facing each other, they have a “peep war.” Further research is needed on this topic.
For the less adventurous, you might try fashioning your own peeps sombrero. You’ll be sure to be gracing the spring Fashion Shows in Paris. Just make sure to do some neck exercises – I bet this sucker gets mighty heavy!
The coffee-crazed might want to try a delicious peepucino – who needs frothy stuff when you can just plop a peep in your coffee? No additional sweeteners needed! Score! The high from the caffeine and sugar also proves to be invaluable when completing school projects or studying for finals.
And you thought you’d just throw your peeps away. Shame on you. Happy Easter!
I just noticed the stalker-ish nature of the songs we do routines to in dance aerobics. The lyrics in the songs consist of “I’m gonna make you love me Oh yes I will, yes will” and “You can run, you can hide but you can’t escape my love.”
Our instructor is obviously sending us subliminal messages about how much she cares for us. Yikes.

I’ve been drinking Arizona Green Tea products like crazy. It’s delicious. The packaging is also quite attractive, which is why I tried it in the first place. I admit, I am attracted to colorful objects. So sue me!
I need a serious haircut – I haven’t gotten one since before Christmas. Yikes! No wonder my hair is all frizzy and nasty on the ends!
I was able to bend the top joint of my left thumb today (though only for a few seconds with shakiness). Still, a very large improvement since my “accident” a few weeks ago. It is still purple and highly unattractive. The nail is going to fall off within the next week or two, I think.
Also, I’m trying to figure out my email situation. My @rpi.edu address will be disabled shortly after graduation, so please change your address books to carrie at carrievision.com. (change the “at” to a “@” symbol)
Have I mentioned how much spam I get lately? At least 50 pieces a day. I’ve just discovered you can have a hotmail account in Outlook Express, so I’m going to use an account with them for all my online accounts, and then the carrievision address for personal emails. Maybe then I won’t get as many “special offers” for pasta cookers, starting online businesses, and spy cameras as I do now. New beginnings are good.
