While looking for my life manifesto today, I found these tips on placing a feng shui fountain in the home:

Wealth & luck = south-east
Good marriage = south-west.
Career = north.
Helpful friends = west.
Good health & family relationship = east.
Study & education = north-east

So perhaps this semester, you’d want to place it in the north-east for study and education! :) Now we just need a compass.. haha :) I feel that I need a feng shui fountain now! My online search for inner peace keeps leading me to feng shui fountains again and again!

Shoot. I typed an entry and then went to a different webpage and now it’s gone. Gosh darn it.

It was about how in high school, the first day of class used to be so high-stress. Will I find my classes before the bell? Will the bitchy snotty chicks be in my classes, or will I be with friends? Will my locker be in a good spot?

I suppose now there are fewer surprises. We know our schedules ahead of time and the whole locker issue is gone (though I still have nightmares about not being able to get it open. And missing the bus too… I have issues). Still, I got a bit nervous when SIS wasn’t cooperating and I didn’t know where my classes were for the day. Yikes.

But it all worked out. I even remembered my mail box combination! Yay!

The Friday Five:

1. Where are you right now?
I’m at a cozy house in snowy Wyoming, NY (in the middle of nowhere… well, Buffalo and Rochester, actually) where I am still at home for my winter break. I’m using the family computer instead of my own, which is on the blinks as of late!

2. What time is it?
2:37 pm. I just did the dishes and packaged up an item I sold on ebay.

3. What are you wearing?
*blushes* leopard print pajama pants and a red long-sleeve shirt. I’m on break, remember?? But really, I plan on getting dressed soon.

4. Any people or animals around you? Describe them.
Right now, my mom’s chihuahua, Lucy, is sleeping on my lap. Her head is on my left forearm and she is wearing a pink and blue striped sweater. Just imagine Taco Bell Dog and that’s my mom’s little baby.. Sweetest most unique little dog ever! Lucy’s big brother, Spike, the Jack Russell Terrier, is asleep on the couch. This is a strange situation, usually they are chasing each other about and fighting over a toy or dog bone (even though they have millions to play with).

5. What are your plans for the weekend?
A little complicated. I plan on going to Vittler’s, a Five and Dime store in Aurora, NY on Saturday afternoon. Then out to dinner with my Aunt Lisa, who I haven’t seen in quite awhile. I’ll probably visit my dad on Sunday morning before I depart on Amtrak at 3 to go back to RPI.

After eating lots of sushi on our cruise, I think our next undertaking should be making sushi!

Plus, we can enjoy them with a Lychee sunrise cocktail – a perfect use for our newly obtained can of lychees!

Another use for lychees – Lychee nuts and pineapple chunks with mango sorbet! I love 30 minute meals - it’s the only show I watch on the food network.

My mom got me a set of acrylics and some canvas-covered boards for Christmas – with a condition that I make some paintings for her fifties-themed kitchen. I’m pretty happy with the results. Hot Hot Hot!

Percolator!

A Fiestaware Pitcher!

Mixmaster!

Toasty!

I had a lot of fun painting – it’s quite therapeutic, really. And it kept me busy for awhile, which is a good thing too! I definitely want to do more painting in the near future. I have it all planned – start a lucrative art business selling my world-renouned paintings on ebay – retire a millionaire by age 25. Riiight. haha :)

Oh gee! I think that is the longest I have EVER gone without changing a layout. I couldn’t take it any more! I had to change it to something crappy so I would be motivated to redesign my site!

So, welcome to the website that took me approximately half an hour to complete. Yahoo.

If I don’t have something new up in 2 weeks, someone please kick me in the butt!

If you still wanna look at jem – she’s still around. It just occurred to me that I could have several versions of my site going at the same time. A seemly obvious thought, but then again I just don’t play with Movable Type enough sometimes.

I would just like to let everyone know we are celebrating 600 entries here at carrievision.com. Gee that’s a lot of postings. Well, I congratulate anyone that has been reading them for this long.

I’m watching The Nanny. That show rocks. I love the beginning credits – except that I never knew the words before.. you know the part, “the kids were actually smiling – such wannabe!” is actually “such joie de vivre!” Wow. That actually makes sense now.

Then again, I used to think the Robert Palmer song “Addicted to Love” was “You’re gonna have to face it – you’re a Dit Dit Diddle ooh”.

Is my
Blog HOT or NOT?

I’ve seen it all now.

The Acheda (aaah- chih – duh) is any kind of stomach ailment, according to my mother. I’ve never heard anyone else call it this. So now I enjoy saying I have Acheda for everything that ails me. “Ow! These pants are pinching me and giving me acheda!” etc. What can I say, you have to love the colorful language.

I have been up until frickin’ 5am for the past few days reading Texas Rich. Aye yi yi! It was really good but I just needed to finish it since my mom is passing the series amongst friends! I’m so glad I’m done, I’m afraid to start the next book in fear that I will continue the horrid sleep schedule until starting classes next week.

Today my mom and I went to Greece Ridge Mall. I hate this mall because it is really 2 malls they combined with a hallway several years ago- Greece Town and East Ridge. Aren’t they tricky. It means that the mall is really LOONG! Several floors are a much better idea in my opinion. Anyhow, I was basically disappointed with the selection of clothing in the malls lately. It’s so fricking boring – they don’t have nearly enough clothes with people on them! (If you know me, you probably understand this). I did, however, get a really cool bracelet, like one I saw in Real Simple magazine this month. It’s made of little squares, and each one has a different picture in it. There were so many to choose from, but I got one with little girly things like sunglasses and nailpolish on each “bead.” Anyway, it’s hot. After some webmonkeying, I actually found it!! HOT HOT HOT.. they come in many varieties and I could just collect all of them! aye!

In the webbie world – Stephanie is now engaged! Congratulations. I know soon it will be my peers with engagements – yikes. Scary thought.

Speaking of scary, Hildi on Trading Spaces is now stapling red fabric with little chinese men on it to the wall. I’m captivated. See you later.
