When I was growing up, my grandmother (and then, after her passing, my aunt) always presented me with a chocolate-filled advent calendar on Thanksgiving. Then each day in December was accompanied by a tiny piece of milk chocolate, with the finale of the big chocolate Santa head on Christmas Eve. It cracks me up that I was able to find the exact advent calendars I remember getting over and over again on the web (there must be an advent calendar monopoly!).

Now, as we grow older and still crave the advent calendar, we have an online version! – filled with fun little snippets and links for each day from now till Christmas. I thought it was a cute idear!

I got those as well! My grandmother still buys them for my brother and I, actually. It’s sort of an ongoing tradition now. But times have changed, and so has how they make the chocolate. Now it’s ala’-plastic-chocolate : taste of the year. =p
