I had a lovely weekend at home. It’s nice to have a change of scenery every once in awhile! I drove home on Friday night, to leave poor Greenlee there since her insurance runs out soon. The drive was pretty much uneventful, except it started to rain a bit on the way. None of the Dunkin’ Donuts on the way seemed to have Chai Lattes. I guess I should have asked, but they were definitely not on the menu.
On Saturday I went to S&A Boutique with my mom to help her find stuff for her Halloween costume. Haha. We also went to Walmart and (surprise!) Dunkin’ Donuts. I think I got a special deal from the guy at DD because I got a huge coffee, a coffee coolata, and 2 donuts for $5. Maybe there was some kind of special goin’ on. I’m not sure
haha. My mommy also made me stuffed peppers. I am too obsessed with peppers. Hehe. And Trading Spaces. Luckily I got my fix of both while I was home
My train ride back to RPI was very nice because it wasn’t very crowded and it was one of the nice Express trains with blue interiors. They have lots of legroom unlike the ghetto orange interior ones which also seem to have a heating problem. Anyway, I got off the train and was thorougly confused. I got off onto a PLATFORM! It was like I was on another planet or something.
Not stairs. There was one of those huge stairway things that goes over the tracks instead of the little cement pathway that was there before. For a few seconds I was sure I had gotten off at the wrong stop but then I remembered they were talking about building a new station in Albany. I didn’t realize it had actually opened. I walked around bewildered for a bit, until I finally found the conquest (concorde?) area or whatever it’s called, and crossed my fingers that I would be found! haha.
Anyway, the new station is huge and really really nice. It has coffee shops and news stands and all this other fancy jazz. And I thought Amtrak was going bankrupt. They really need to do the same thing in Rochester, because the station there is worse than the old one in Albany.
Happy Birthday to Karen, my work-study boss Chris, and my high school friend Sarah! October 28th is a big day for birthdays I guess!
