1. How long have you had a weblog?
Well my beginning online journal was at my very cheesy old website, in April 1999. I started in with blogger in June 2000. So depending which you would count, either 2 or 3 years I have been blogging my little heart out.
2. What was your first post about?
Complaining about choosing a college. I remember having to update that page during computer lab hours at school since we didn’t always have web access at home.
3. How many changes (name, location, etc.) of your weblog have there been, if more than one?
The original was on Geocities, then blogger with my school account, and now my own domain.
4. What CMS (content management system) do you use? Do you like it or do you want to try something else?
I’m with all the cool kids with Movable Type, though I have used Greymatter, Blogger, and Diaryland in the past. (I’ve never used LiveJournal or Pitas) Movable Type is nice since my weblog is getting huge (over 500 entries now.) Plus it has the best GUI and I can host multiple weblogs off of it. I haven’t had too much trouble installing it like other people have.
5. Do you read people who have both a journal and a weblog? Or do you prefer to read people who have all of their writing in one central place?
I pretty much like it when people mix all their content together. There are a few I read religiously, and others that I visit just once in awhile.
Don’t know what a weblog is? You may have one and not even know it, check out the history. I find it so surprising that there are books and things coming out on blogging this year. I have a feeling that one day school children will be reading about “the blogging generation” much like we read about the free spirits of the sixties.
