Edited April 18th for amendments:

While browsing RPIWatch, I found some shocking, terrifying news – that a TIGER was actually on the RPI campus! The thing is, this tiger didn’t attack others, instead, it decided to pretend to be a cashier in the union and become a decorative gargoyle for the entrance of VCC.

Speaking of the VCC, my expert photographic abilities are going to be illustrated in the first issue of our on-campus art magazine thing, Statler and Waldorf. But really, it was a mistake!

I’m sorry to say my photo didn’t make it to publication. Apparently the Editor-in-Chief didn’t think it was as effective in grayscale. Bummer.

I must now sing the praises of BlogTrack. It checks all the weblogs I read for new entries, so I don’t have to go in my favorites menu at all! I feel it is a handy feature!

And Shira had a very entertaining entry about squirrels today. Snort Snort!

Sam put up some pictures from the TEP formal! Unfortunately all the pictures I took are still waiting on the roll I have in my camera – I need to take 12 more pictures before I can get those babies developed!

Anyway – Here’s all the girls, along with all the boys. Then of course, everyone got together for a picture. There are more, especially a rather lovely one of yours truly looking sedated! If you’re clever enough to find them, more power to you! Mu haha!

This weekend was unproductive but Worth It (Clairol.. because you’re Worth It! haha). Anyhow, Oak, Jay and I went to Binghamton to visit Shira and to attend Mike’s 21st birthday party. Mike’s parents threw the party, it was at a tasty restauant where we gorged ourselves with jummy Italian mosels. My tummy is still full! We also went bowling, where I bowled a 96 in my second game – I’m so proud of myself! (We won’t mention the sore losses that occurred with the first game..)

Today I went to the union to get myself a Chicken sandwich. So I ordered my chicken sandwich, just to find it was a freaking CHICKEN PATTY! Apparently you have to order a “chicken sub” to get something with actual chicken pieces on it instead of deep fried processed mystery meat. Not that I don’t enjoy chicken patties… I was just sorely disappointed by eating a chicken patty, which I could have gotten in the freaking Commons for free! Arg!

Because I can’t come up with my own content today, I’ve decided to do The Friday Five. Please be sure to leave comments with your answers!

1. What is your favorite restaurant and why?

My favorite restaurant in Troy is Plum Blossom. The lunch deals are really good, you get soup and an entree for $5.75 (and it’s a sit-down type deal too!). Of all time though, I would have to say Sunny’s Open Pit BBQ – since I haven’t been south in quite some time, I’m not sure if it’s still my fave, but I still enjoy ribs immensely so I think it’s still up there.

2. What fast food restaurant are you partial to?

Right now, my fave is Arby’s. I loooove seasoned fries and their cheddar roast beef sandwiches. Jum Jum Jum. I also like Wendy’s for their spicy chicken sandwiches (hold the lettuce – lettuce on sandwiches is just not good, except for BLTs).

3. What are your standards and rules for tipping?

I think the rule is to double the tax, no? I suppose it depends on how good the waiter/waitress is. One time at Chili’s I asked for some barbeque sauce for my ribs and I didn’t even get it until I was eating my very last rib. I don’t think that waiter got a very good tip.

4. Do you usually order an appetizer and/or dessert?

Sometimes. I almost always share appetizers and desserts with other people unless I’m starting to chew my arm off. If you count salad as an appetizer, I usually get one of those.

5. What do you usually order to drink at a restaurant?

It depends. If I’m feeling diet or budget conscious, I get water. Otherwise I usually get Sprite or 7-up. Mountain Dew is reserved for when I need to stay up late or when I’m feeling especially sleepy!

Looking for rental furniture for our apartment over the summer. There are some deals for students, but it is “selections from our overstock.” So we will have matching pieces for each room, but possibly a different motifa for each as well.. Will we get Garden Oak? Washed Oak? Traditional? Those are the three likely possiblities, but it would really be over the top if they gave us pieces from the Retro Collection. So hot!!!

This is almost like an episode of Trading Spaces – our mystery furniture! Tune in a month from now and I will let you know what we ended up getting!

Yesterday was TEP’s spring formal. Spent a good part of yesterday afternoon primping. Lisa took two hours curling tiny pieces of my hair, which was up in a ponytail. AND it actually survived the night! (Thanks chica!) My hair rarely holds curl unless it’s pinned in place, but the Herbal Essences Spray Gel seemed to do the trick!

The formal was at The Desmond, which was extremely fancy. The inside of it was built like a village kind of (I guess it’s called an “indoor courtyard”), so in the lobby area it felt like you were outside, when in reality it was all indoors. I had a Caesar salad (more like a plate of lettuce), prime rib, and extremely dangerous chocolate “cake” that was more like heavy fudge. Luckily a few hours were spent dancing around like a dork afterwards to burn off the death cake.

Getting dressed up is so much fun, except the foot pain. Oh you evil high heels, why must you torture my feet so? After the dancing was over we headed back to RPI to sample some tasty beverages. Jum Jum. It was so fun seeing everyone dressed up!!!! :-D It was a wonderful night!

Today the reality sets in, for there is a test in database systems on Tuesday. Noooooo. The whole daylight savings time really sucks too, it stole a precious hour of my day!

RPIWatch is a wannabe Slashdot designed for RPI students. Feel the RPI anguish.

In other news, I’m going to be publishing some of the interesting referrals that I get. People get here by searching for the strangest things. For some of them, I feel like I should fulfill the need! (though… not always! yikes!).

Here is installment one:

Retro Clipart – that’s actually something I was looking for at one point. try here

RPI CANOS – so somebody has met my horrid stress from last spring. I’m sorry, but I burned all of my answers and stuff right after the final.

Mr. T Buddy Icon – I pity da foo’ who comes to Carrievision.com for a Mr. T. Buddy Icon! But hey, maybe I’ll actually make one soon!

Mod Podge Olsen – I didn’t realize the Olsen twins were proprietors of Mod Podge. It is quite possible though!

Somehow… Jay and I are almost done with the database systems homework. I don’t know how it happened. It seems we have only spent 4 or 5 hours on it so far, and we have only one problem and the extra credits left! I think the dbsys gods smiled upon us and gave us easy problems where you just plug numbers into formulas. Yahoooo!! :-D

I hate doing laundry. I have too many clothes to fit in my closet and drawers so it’s alwas like shoving them in there. I need to get rid of some but I always have a problem saying goodbye. I need to face it and throw out any clothes I had from say, more than 2 years ago (some things just can’t say goodbye.. I do try to clean out my clothes every year)! But some of those are my favorites! So tragical!

I added a new page to Carrievision.com – Link-O-Rama! It would have been up yesterday but my FTP was playing an April Fool’s trick on me by mysteriously changing the port number without telling me. I’ll be putting up more links soon.
