Here are some fascinating tidbits about MOI:

1. What was your first job?

I worked at Woodward Memorial Library (affectionately nicknamed WML) as a student page. I put away books in the sweltering heat of the summer; continued to work there through my senior year of high school and the summer before college. My best friend Shira also worked there, and the best part was joking about the patrons that came in. Chicken Soup Lady? was our favorite to make fun of; her weekly Monday-night visits to the library always included asking the librarian if the latest Chicken Soup for the Soul book had arrived yet.

2. What was your first car? What happened to it?

My first car is still the car I own, a 1988 Oldsmobile Calais by the name of Dominique. She took me to and from work through the summer, and I thank her for that. I was kind enough to provide her with a powerpuff girls steering wheel cover and I also have Blossom hanging from the rearview mirror. Now she is sitting at home, waiting for me to see her again.

3. What was your first concert?

Alanis Morissette at Darien Lake (now a Six Flags, and a former employer of mine, argh). I was 15 and I had to miss part of a day of Band Camp for it ! Scandalous! Just about everyone who was anyone went to that concert; Alanis looked more like a little doll on stage from where we were standing – for all I know it could have been an impostor the whole time!

By the way, please do leave comments with your answers!

You are one of the few people I know that knows about Darien Lake! I went there and stayed with my mom in an RV for one night, then went to the amusement park the next morning. And yes, this was before it was a Six Flags… small world, huh?

to answer your comment from my comments section, nope, they’re not color contacts… but the idea of color contacts is interesting, once I get used to the idea! ;)

I remember the Alanis concert like it was yesterday! I also remember skipping 1/2 of band camp that day! We WERE naughty, weren’t we? That was quite an experience Ahh, how times have changed! I also remember the crowd passing around a little boy “crowd surfing” against his will! Good times…
