This is a journal site for those filled with angst: DeadJournal.com. I probably should be posting there this week, huh?
Surprisingly, things seem to be coming along quite well. I have only two visual literacy exercises left and I have my drafts of the final project for that class done already. Laura and I are about halfway through the web & database programming project. The only truly beckoning thing is my literature project, which I have yet to start. Oops.
Radio City is this Saturday! Exciting! Datiepoo tomorrow – we’re going out for Indian food with Jay and Shira. Hooray
Being busy keeps things interesting, though it is slightly stressful. Ah well, a week from today I’ll be basically finished for the semester! Hard to believe.
I updated the side bar stuff. That pretty much sums up my next two weeks! See ya on December 8th!
Hey -
Posting from home! Turkey dinner was absolutely fabulous- just fabulous!
I especially enjoy stuffing, green bean casserole, and corn muffins. Oh yes, corn muffins.
I also watched Friends, the episode with Brad Pitt in it.. lol. and like 3 episodes of Martha Stewart (I know I’m evil.). I got a haircut yesterday. Tomorrow Shira and I are making some kind of festive soup that is served in gourds or something… I really leave the logistics up to her, usually. Also gotta watch a few movies for Intro to Literature (hey, it’s better than reading more books! hehee).
Happy Turkey Day!
I wonder what life would be like as a happy home maker, what with all these home economics textbooks to guide you! It’s interesting that I never learned these things when I took the class in junior high school. I recall making a stuffed dolphin… and that everyone burnt the macaroni and cheese. Then again, we weren’t your typical 1950s home economics class –
“….we meet Miss Maitland’s home ec class, which seems to be populated with goody two-shoes like Henry, who, carried away by excitement in the good-grooming unit, suggests that they have a quiz about health habits that lead to better appearance. ‘I know,’ he pipes up, ‘we might call it ‘Magic for Me.’ Maybe for you, Henry. Maybe for you.”
The RPI website has been redesigned. How sleek, sophisticated, and …. nonpatriotic it is now (it used to sport school colors.. now it’s blue and gray, what’s up with that?).
I want to add a search utility to my site – does anyone have one they recommend? I’ve tried finding scripts that you install directly on the server but the ones I’ve found so far have sucked for several reasons. I just registered for the google site search, but that is not pretty either! (unless I cleverly change it.. heh heh heh) Any suggestions?
In other news, I’m working on my MITR project (further info withheld for possible security reasons.. hehe). Basically all I’m doing is making ASP pages that plop junk onto HTML pages. I’m doing the easy stuff, oh baby.. one of my group members is doing the back end of the site. I have it like halfway done, I’m so proud of myself! Now I only need to *start* the MBA project and I’ll be all set. Woohoo. (trying to ignore Visual Literacy and Intro to Literature for right now.. they don’t exist so much! nope!)
The 3/4 of the way through the semester rush has hit. Noooo!! I don’t want to work on 4 different projects at once! Free the burden!
I was a cameraperson (how p.c.) at the Rusty Pipes concert last night – I got a few good shots I guess, but it’s very confusing when you are lining up shots, and then you realize your camera is up on the big screen – agiaga! In general, you have to pay attention to the live action, the camera, and the back screen all at the same time. I’m sure I’ll see the recording eventually, I’m pretty sure I screwed up a few times (like – “Oh carrie zoned out for 2 seconds! Why is there like one person in teh bottom corner of the screen?!) but hopefully that was all caught by the dude that was switching between cameras- oh yes it was a complicated process that I have never participated in before. Now I notice this when I’m watching TV – “WOAH, camera change!”
My bottom right wisdom tooth is in crooked. I’m beginning to fear my next trip to the dentist.
Thanks to Irving and Hilary for the linkiepoos! You guys rule
So the registration process was quite painful. SIS (our student information system) decided to crash just as all of the 12:30 time slot people were trying to get on. Needless to say, I was in a state of utter panic. But, I got into everything easily. I registered for 20 credits, because I couldn’t decide if I wanted to take Marketing or not.. so I registered for Intermediate Vis Comm just in case after the first few classes I decide it sucks. So I’m dropping one or the other of those. Probably. Maybe I’ll just decide to drive myself insane and take 20 credits. Who knows.
In other news… Hmm, there is a Rusty Pipes concert this weekend! It is called “Saved by the Pipes” so I can just imagine how amusing it is going to be. I hope Screech shows up for the fun!
